Meet the NYDesigns Futureworks Shops Fellows: Hylas Energy, Mito Labs, T4D Lab and Pucky
As part of the Futureworks Shops program, we support the growth of hardware startups through workspace subsidies at top prototyping spaces across New York City. NYDesigns has been a nexus for growing startups over the past five years because of their combination of dedicated studio spaces, in-house incubation and a 5,000 sq ft fab lab. This year, we’ve awarded four companies with six months of shared space at NYDesigns, part of LaGuardia Community College, in Long Island City. The companies will also have access to prototyping facilities in the NYDesigns fab lab. Check out the companies below.
Hylas Energy
Hylas develops a compact technology, the Model Z1, enabling at-home production of renewable biogas energy safely, efficiently, and rapidly.
Mito Labs
Mito Labs is a New York-based company that is on a mission to equip every indoor farmer with a suite of world-class tools that enable them to consistently grow the best crops imaginable. Theycombine cutting edge tech with advanced telemetry and a holistic approach that considers the entire indoor ecosystem and works within growersʼ existing infrastructure.
T4D Lab
T4D Lab is an R&D lab specialized in prototyping, field-testing and producing sustainable technological solutions to humanitarian, environmental and social challenges worldwide. T4D Lab specializes in applying design methods and engineering practices to foster climate resilience within underserved communities.
Pucky
Pucky is an IoT-based virtual doorman service for non-doorman buildings in NYC. For $5/month, Pucky allows individual apartments to have keyless entrance to their building without making any visible changes to the building – conveniently and securely.
